Electrician Jaime Lopez has been a Construction Talent employee for more than two years and an electrician for six. In 2019, he won the Talent Corps Mike Lyles Award which is presented annually to our most outstanding field associate.
Jaime is truly exceptional, a construction pro who demonstrates the Talent Corps core values on every assignment: he is adaptable, loyal, tough, noble and open. He is a team player.
We interviewed Jaime to find out what makes him tick. Here is an excerpt from that interview.
What makes you excited to come to work every day?
I love being an electrician! It feels good to have this job.
How do you like working for Construction Talent?
It’s a good environment and there are a lot of friendly people to work with. I’ve never had a problem getting work and staying busy.
People care a lot about their pay and safety on the job. What can you share about pay and safety at Construction Talent?
Construction Talent’s payroll system is easy to follow and use. As a matter of fact, it’s the easiest way I can think of, and it’s always on time.
The company is very safe and highly secure. Compared to my experience at other companies, Construction Talent is the best. Other places didn’t provide the necessary equipment that we needed to perform the job correctly, it has never been that way with this company.
Working as an electrician can be dangerous and a bit scary. What do you tell people who are thinking about starting an electrical career?
It’s very exciting! The job is much like cooking actually. Once you burn yourself or make a mistake, you learn what not do to next time. It’s the same thing in this job. I’ve been shocked a little at work and have learned what not to do since.
And what about working for Construction Talent – what should people know about a career with us?
When you come to work here, they treat you like family. They welcome you in and treat you wonderfully.
