Celebrating National Volunteer Month: Honoring Dedication to Service
At Talent Corps, we believe in the power of service—both in the workplace and in our communities. As a veteran-owned and operated company, we take immense pride in supporting those who dedicate their time and energy to causes that make a difference. This National Volunteer Month, we are thrilled to spotlight one of our own: Kelly Marler. She is an exceptional Account Manager who has been recognized with the Ollie Shining Star Award for her outstanding volunteer work with the USO in Houston, TX.
Giving Back with Purpose
Kelly Marler embodies the core values of Talent Corps: commitment, dedication, and service. Her work with the USO (United Service Organizations) plays a crucial role in supporting active-duty military members and their families. From organizing events to providing much-needed resources, Kelly’s efforts help strengthen the morale of those who serve our country. Each year, nearly 200,000 troops and military family members visit USO Centers in Houston. The USO Houston routinely hosts activities and programs to serve these troops and military families. This is a good volunteer opportunity for those with busy or unpredictable schedules.
The Ollie Shining Star Award
The Ollie Shining Star Award is a prestigious recognition within Talent Corps, given to team members who go above and beyond in their commitment to community service. Kelly’s passion for volunteering, particularly in a cause so closely tied to our company’s mission, makes her a truly deserving recipient. Her work with the USO reflects the same dedication and integrity she brings to Talent Corps every day.
Why Volunteering Matters
National Volunteer Month is a time to acknowledge the impact that selfless service has on communities across the nation. At Talent Corps, we encourage our team to engage in volunteer efforts that align with their passions while supporting meaningful causes. Giving back not only strengthens your communities but also fosters personal and professional growth. At Talent Corps we have many approved organizations for volunteer days such as Hope Kids, Marine Toys for Tots, 22 Kill (One Tribe Foundation), Ronald McDonald House, Habitat for Humanity, North Texas Food Bank, MS Society of Texas, American Cancer Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and many more.
A Culture of Service at Talent Corps
As a veteran-owned business, we understand the importance of service, whether it’s staffing essential construction and trade projects or giving back to organizations that support our military. Kelly’s dedication to the USO is a testament to the values we hold dear at Talent Corps: leadership, teamwork, and making a lasting impact. Talent Corps encourages all employees to give back to their communities through volunteering. We want to Strengthen our Communities through selfless service to create a lasting impact.
